Lost World

Action/adventure films which focus on the discovery and/or exploration of a legendary or primeval world, often populated by prehistoric creatures. These "lost worlds" are generally hostile, isolated locales, such as dense tropical jungles, lush islands forgotten by history or deep caverns, although in some cases they can be deserts or even frigid polar landscapes.
In a broader sense, this Tag will also include films in which human beings recreate ecosystems that vanished hundreds of thousands - or even millions - of years ago, particularly through the use of futuristic genetic engineering techniques.
